“I have enjoyed every minute at Weston-super-Mare AFC, I progressed through the

academy playing for the under 18s and 19s. I’m proud to be the longest serving

player in the current 1st team squad. Although I have had lots of interest to move on to

professional football, playing for my local club who are semi professional, enables me

to continue with my full time work as a teacher. I am looking forward to being an

important part to the Club’s progress towards National League Football over the

coming years.”

Luke Purnell

“I had a great experience at Weston Academy, I was at Weston-super-Mare AFC from the age of 16 and played in the Under 18s and 19s before breaking into the 1st team in 2009, when I was 18 years old. I was ever present in the 1st team squad until my transfer this year (2018) to Forest Green Rovers playing over 300 games for the seagulls.”

Dayle Grubb

“My time at my local club Weston-super-Mare AFC is a definite highlight of my career, to have

been able to progress through the junior and academy structure, into the first team, shows

the standard of coaching available at the Club. I have always had the right attitude and

dedication to football and that along with the coaching has helped me progress to full time

football with Barnsley FC.”
