WESTON-SUPER-MARE AFC ACADEMY TRIALS 2025-2026 sEASON
Weston-super-Mare AFC, a Semi-Professional Football Club competing in the National League South, is extending invitations to players aiming to elevate their skills to participate in our trials for the upcoming 2025-2026 Season.
The Club's core ethos revolves around nurturing talent within our academy and guiding their progression to become key members of the 1st Team. Under the leadership of our new Head of Academy, Gary Warren, and with the support of Craig Graham, our academy is committed to providing optimal support to our players.
Throughout the season, players are closely monitored and guided by our Coaches and Heads of Phase, ensuring continuous advancement along our Academy Pathway. As part of our academy, we participate in the Junior Premier League, offering a platform that bridges the gap between Grassroots football and Professional Football Academies. Furthermore, our older age groups also compete in the National League, providing them with an opportunity to challenge themselves against top-tier National League Football Clubs.
On the weeks commencing 2nd, 9th, and 16th of June 2025, Weston-super-Mare AFC Academy will conduct trials for age groups U8s to U16s at the Weston-super-Mare AFC Optima Stadium 3G Astro Turf. During the trial process, players will receive constructive feedback from coaches. The initial stage involves a training session, where players will be assessed individually through various advanced and technical drills. Subsequently, another training session will further evaluate players' capabilities as individuals and team members. Successful candidates will progress to the third stage, involving a game-based trial, allowing the coaching staff to make a final assessment of each trialist based on the qualities that match the standard of the Weston-super-Mare AFC Academy.
Throughout the trials, our coaching staff will utilise The FA 4-Corner Model and Weston-super-Mare AFC's Internal Philosophy to evaluate the Technical, Tactical, Social, and Psychological attributes of each player.
